Upon invitation, Project Survival Media is coming to your home, or a home near you!
House parties are an ongoing opportunity for friends & supporters to benefit the project: With help from a small committee, hosts open their home for a lovely evening of hours de’voures and a compelling presentation on our new media program, Solutions for Survival. These gatherings are a friendly, intimate way for Project Survival Media Co-Directors Shadia and Madeline to: Update our community on our progress, vision, and needs; receive input and feedback; and meet professionals and activists who can help the project grow and succeed. They are also a key tool to help raise funds for our work.

The Campaign
Funds raised at PSM house parties benefit the project in two major ways: First, consistent individual support is critical to the project as a whole, making sure that PSM central staff can continue to make PSM our number one priority. Second, many individuals choose instead to “sponsor a media team.” This allows them to develop relationships with a Team Leader and team members and to learn about climate change effects and solutions in a specific region.
Hosts provide
- A space to share PSM’s vision by opening their home for an evening
- With the host committee, extension of invitations to friends and colleagues they think will be interested in the project (we have great examples and can help here)
- With the host committee, food and beverages for about 20-30 people
- Help assessing the space prior to the event for a presentation and screening of video clips
We provide
- The opportunity to be involved in a unique, cutting-edge youth media program
- An engaging multi-media presentation about the project, with screenings of video clips
- Help identifying and forming a “host committee” of 2-3 more people responsible for planning and invitations with the host
- Materials to thank donors, to follow-up, tax-deductable donation receipts and other administrative aids
- If requested by the host(s), help with supplies, set-up and clean-up
Ways to Give at PSM House Parties:
We accept all standard forms of support at house parties. Additionally, Project Survival Media is proud to be a project of the Earth Island Institute. With this fiscal sponsorship, we also have the opportunity to easily accept contributions in the form of stocks, estate giving, ongoing monthly donations, or shared contributions to us and our fiscal sponsor, among other options. Be creative, and encourage invitees to think about ways to contribute to the project that work best for them. Visit our donate page to find out more.
